Official Pest Reports are provided by National Plant Protection Organizations within the NAPPO region. These Pest Reports are intended to
comply with the International Plant Protection Convention's Standard on Pest Reporting, endorsed
by the Interim Commission on Phytosanitary Measures in March 2002.

The purpose of this memorandum is to notify you of the temporary designation, effective
February 15, for seven additional counties in Wisconsin as quarantined areas. This action is in response to recent trapping detections in the indicated counties. This action is authorized by 7 CFR 301.50-3 (b) which provides for temporary designation pending publication of a rule to add the new areas to the list shown in 7 CFR 301.50-3 (c). The 7 CFR 301.50-3 (b) further requires written notification be given to the owner or person in possession of a newly quarantined area. This is the responsibility of the Federal and/or State regulatory personnel responsible for the GM program in the affected State.

The State of Wisconsin must confirm prior to February 15 the establishment of a parallel quarantine, or the entire State will be regulated as of that date. The confirmation should be made in writing to the APHIS State Plant Health Director.
