Report:
Effective November 13, 2024, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) removed 42.83 acres from the pale cyst nematode (Globodera pallida, PCN) regulated area in Bonneville County, Idaho in accordance with 7 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 301.86 et. seq.
APHIS removed this acreage from regulation because the PCN-associated fields completed a release protocol that is comprised of a sequence of surveys with negative laboratory results for PCN in accordance with 7 CFR §301.86-3(d)(2). The specific PCN-regulated areas are listed on the APHIS Pale Cyst Nematode webpage.
With these changes, the current PCN-regulated area in Idaho is 6,452.17 acres, of which 3,538 acres are infested fields and 2,914.17 acres are associated fields. The infested fields are in an 8.5-mile radius that spans a portion of northern Bingham County and southern Bonneville County.
APHIS will publish a notice of this change in the Federal Register.
Under IPPC standards, Globodera pallida is a pest that is present: not widely distributed and under official control in the United States.
