Report:

As part of the Phytosanitary Epidemiological Surveillance Program and the Campaign against banana moko disease, plants with suspicious symptoms of Phyllocoptruta musae (Keifer) were detected on December 18, 202. The plants showed browning and necrosis on the leaf surface in a production orchard in the municipality of Teapa, Tabasco, Mexico.

The National Service for Agri-Food Health, Safety and Quality, through the Plant Health Directorate, has immediately implemented surveillance, delimitation, sampling, and phytosanitary management for Phyllocoptruta musae (Keifer).

Based on this and according to International Plant Protection Convention Standards for Phytosanitary Measures 8 and 9, Phyllocoptruta musae (Keifer) is considered a transient, quarantine pest that is present.
